I'm hand quilting the Scatty Stars quilt. Very simple stitching, but I am enjoying doing it very much. Hopefully this will be a finish by next week.
I won a book, Just Around the Corner, by Kari M. Carr when there was a blog tour recently. Sherri from A Quilting Life http://www.aquiltinglife.com/ picked my name, so thank you so much, Sherri.
And it's autographed.
Thank you, Kari.
The method for making the mitered borders is surprisingly simple, and I have added one of the quilts in the book to my "I'm definitely going to make this" list.
That list is very long. If only I could stop reading books, magazines, blogs, etc. Not going to happen.
Tomorrow, Saturday, I should be doing the Walk for the Poor in my city, but we may be rained out. If that happens, it will be a perfect day to finish my Scatty Stars Quilt.
Enjoy your weekend!
God Bless You.
Scatty Stars is beautiful. I always love your fabric selections and this one is definitely a winner! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink and black. It is very striking. Nola
ReplyDeleteturns out very nicely!
ReplyDeleteScatty Stars looks just great. I couldn't zoom in enough to see how you're quilting it, but I'm sure it's going to be wonderful when it's finished.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations too on your win, that book is definitely on my wish list, as I've never in my life managed to do a really good mitred corner.
I just love your quilt Joanna! Looking forward to see your quilting. The book looks like it would be a good reference for those pesky corners that we sometimes have to deal with.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is stunning, I love the pink in there.
ReplyDeleteI love the contrast of colour you've used here. Hope you haven't got sore feet from your walk. If you did, then you can now put your feet up and read a good book :-)
